Volvo 850 Sedan ( 1991-1996, U.S. version )

The Volvo 850 was a model of the middle class from Swedish car manufacturer Volvo and the predecessor of the Volvo S70 and the Volvo V70.

History

In the fall of 1991, Volvo introduced the new model that is named 850. First, the sedan came on the market, which had four technical " world firsts " in production cars, according to Volvo: a delta link rear axle, which should improve the handling characteristics, the first transverse-mounted five-cylinder engines, seat belts that automatically adapting itself to the size of the driver, and finally the side impact protection system SIPS (Side Impact protection System). In early 1993, the station wagon was introduced. Through him the 850 successful, because the majority of all 850 models were sold in Germany as a station wagon. Volvo 850 Estate (1993-1996)

T -5R
