Volvo PV 60 (1946 )

The Volvo PV 60 is a passenger car that was built by Volvo in the years 1946 to 1950. He solved the series PV 53 to PV 56.

While the body was redesigned engine, a page- controlled six -cylinder engine with a displacement of 3670 cc, was taken over from its predecessor. Only the performance was slightly to 90 hp (66 kW) increase ( PV53 PV56 to 86 PS/63 kW).

The car was introduced in September 1944 in the Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm together with the smaller PV 444. The delivery did not begin until 1946. By 1950, 3006 of this model were built. In addition, 500 of the variant were 61 PV ( chassis for special bodies ). A taxi version was not built.

The PV 60 in 1950 was set without successors. Meanwhile, Volvo produced the smaller PV 444, which could be sold in much larger quantities. It was not until 1968 with the Volvo 164 Volvo returned back to the six-cylinder class.
