With the introduction of the six-cylinder series PV 650 1929 Volvo had a sufficiently large and sturdy car model, with which they could compete in the lucrative taxi market. The TR670 series was introduced in February 1930. Volvo extended the wheelbase by 150 mm to 3100 mm and made from the car as a seven-seater with two folding auxiliary seats in the passenger compartment.
