Von Ammendorf Family

Ammendorf, also Ammendorff, Amendorf, was a chivalrous noble family with the same name parent company Ammendorf near Halle.

History

According to legend, is listed as the first of a Fritz Ammendorf 969 at a tournament in Merseburg. First documented mention 1115 and 1155 Henry of Ammendorf, after 1224 Albertus de Ammendorf. The detectable strain series begins in 1239 with Heinemann of Ammendorf. A Albertus de Ammendorf 1263-71 appears as Provincial of the bailiwick of Thuringia in the Commendatore Zwätzen. First documented in 1266 Heinricus de Ammendorf nobilis vir. Mostly wealthy in the bishopric of Merseburg, and later in Magdeburg, among others in Rothenburg. The Ammendorf of 1308 gave their headquarters Ammendorf and moved to hall. With Conrad died of Ammendorf to Rothenburg 1550.
