Von Zeipel (crater)

75.09

From Zeipel is an impact crater on the back side of the Moon and therefore can not be observed directly from Earth. It partially overlaps the eastern edge of the larger crater Fowler and penetrates to the crater floor before. It lies between the similar formation of overlapping crater Esnault - Pelterie and Schlesinger in the north and the south crater Klute.

From Zeipel is, especially on the western and south-western side, heavily eroded formation. The boundary to the surroundings can be seen clearly, although the edge is worn and rounded by smaller impacts. The south- southwestern edge has a small, eroded crater and the crater floor is marked by a striking, bowl -shaped crater in the northern half.
