The preliminary, 3028 m, is a mountain in Switzerland with the main peak and the side peak Grisons preliminary Glarus preliminary 3018 m, both on the border between the cantons of Glarus and Graubünden. The main peaks are located on the municipal area of ​​Elm, Siat and Laax. With the secondary peaks also push the communities Falera and Panix to the area. The mountain can be seen from the settlement area of ​​the adjoining places only of Elm in its steep northern flank or almost entirely of Flims -Waldhaus, as its southeastern to southwestern flanks and expiring burrs fall very flat.

Name

The name derives probably from the point of view of the Glarus, after which the mountain is as visible demarcation immediately "before" and the cantonal border to the south, very elongated and flat drops ( "abe " in dialect ).

Summit of the preliminary

East is at 2002 meters, the Martinsmadhütte, from which one can reach the high plateau of the Vorabfirns on a blue and white marked path through the high alpine Schwarzwändli. In west- southwesterly direction a burr from the Grisons advance via many nameless listed highlights for Panixerpass, the Elm connects in the canton of Glarus with Panix in the canton of Grisons.
