The Vorarlberg State Theatre is a theater with solid ensemble cast and numerous guests in Bregenz.
History
The Theater for Vorarlberg was founded in 1945. In addition to the flagship store at the grain market in Bregenz, theater plays at several performance venues in the state of Vorarlberg. The game plan is characterized by contemporary and classical plays, added performances for young people and children. Once per season, a musical theater production is offered. Since the directorship of Alexander Kubelka the musical theater was extended to 2-3 productions per season.
Theatre on grain market
The main venue is the 1838 to 1840 after plans by the architect Josef brain at the grain market built Bregenz grain house. The building jumps in front of the Kornmarktstraße and completes the Kornmarktplatz. The main gable facade is sober and has an open arcaded porch on sandstone pillars and side arcades. From 1951 to 1955, the grain house according to the plans of Willibald Brown and William Brown to a regular theater house was - today's theater at the grain market - rebuilt. The interior design and the design of the foyer took the painter Hubert Berchtold 1956 with a mosaic and the painter Fritz Krcal in 1957 with a painting. Under the direction of architect Helmut Kuess found from 1993 to 1995 conversion and renovation works are taking place. As a second venue has since been the theater on the sample stage are available. Current
The current cultural debate questioned the institution theater after its future viability. Future job and opportunity to cooperate and design. In this sense, the Vorarlberg regional theater operated since 2009 as increasingly Dreispartentheater house, with speech, music and youth theater. The theater building on the grain market was until 2013 under the direction of the Cultural Office of Bregenz. After negotiations between the State of Vorarlberg and the city of Bregenz, it has now succeeded in the building throughout the year at the State Theatre rent and to give this as a "real" home. The theater is thus still able to inspire people and to actively participate in shaping the future.
The game plan was even more varied and multifaceted By expanding the division's musical theater. In the season 2012/13 the first time a work by the well-known musician and composer Markus Nigsch was to be commissioned. The libretto was written by the literary manager and best-selling author of Micaela Marcard. The Musical Noir " Dangerous Liaisons " was first performed on 30 April 2013 Vorarlberg State Theater. The State Theatre plays so far ever to reach a wide range of games through partnerships and of itself. Thus, the State Theatre regularly collaborates with the National Conservatory of Feldkirch and the Vorarlberg Symphony Orchestra.
