Vortex (Carowinds)

Vortex in Carowinds ( Charlotte, North Carolina, United States) is a steel roller coaster from the model stand-up coaster manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard, which opened on March 14, 1992, a year before Paramount bought out the park. She was the third roller coaster by Bolliger & Mabillard and includes on its short haul a loop and a corkscrew.

Layout

The journey begins by leaving the passengers in an unusual standing position the station and a 27 m high lift hill will be drawn up. A typical B & M Predrop ends the lift hill and begins the journey into the curvy first drop. After the first drop of the loop and an inclined upward and a downward sloping curve follow. A helix is followed by the downward curve before the corkscrew is obtained. After a wide curve the final brakes brakes the train before it reaches the station.
