Vortex (Kings Island)

Vortex at Kings Iceland (Kings Mills, Ohio, USA) is a steel roller coaster from Custom Looping Coaster model of the manufacturer Arrow Dynamics, opened on 11 April 1987.

At the time of its opening it was considered the roller coaster with the most inversions. It is located at the point in the park where previously the roller coaster Bat went their rounds. The station of Bat continues to be used as a station for Vortex.

For the construction of about 1,000 tons of steel were needed.

Vortex has three trains, each with seven cars. In each car four people (two rows of two people) can take place. Passengers must be at least 1.22 meters tall to ride must. As restraint system come shoulder strap for use.

Driving elements

Vortex has two loops, a double corkscrew, a Batwing ( which consists of two inversions ) and a helix at the end of the ride.
