Vougy (Loire)

Vougy is a commune with 1416 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Loire department in the Rhône -Alpes. It is located about 6 km north of Roanne halfway to Pouilly- sous- Charlieu. The local church dates from the 19th century and was built by architect Edouard Corroyer, who was also responsible for the restoration of the abbey of Mont -Saint -Michel. In 1334 the place is mentioned as Vougiacus first written.
