Vovcha River

The Wowtscha (Ukrainian Вовча, Russian Волчья / Woltschja ) is a 323 km long right tributary of Samara in Ukraine.

The river has a catchment area of 13,000 km ² originates on the southeastern slopes of Donezrücken in 65 m height in Rajon Krasnoarmijsk, Donetsk Oblast, then flows into the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and flows 12 km northwest of Pawlohrad in the Samara.

Important tributaries are the 79 km long Solona (Ukrainian Солона ) with a catchment area of 946 km ² and 55 km long Kamianka (Ukrainian Кам'янка ), which has a catchment area of 517 km ².

On the banks of Wowtscha are the settlements of urban type Wassylkiwka, Kurachiwka and Pokrowske and the city Pawlohrad. The urban district of the associated city Selydowe Kurachowe is located on Kurachower reservoir to which the river is dammed up there.
