Voves

Voves is a commune with 3019 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Eure- et- Loir in the Centre region; it belongs to the district of the canton of Chartres and Voves.

Geography

The community is located about 25 kilometers southeast of Chartres. To Voves include the districts Fainville, Saignolles, Genonville, Yerville, Sazeray, Lhopiteau and Villarceaux.

History

From 1942 to 1944 there was a French internment camp in Voves (French Camp de Voves ) → prison camp Voves.
