Vrångö

Vrångö is an island and a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Västra Götaland County and the historic province of Västergötland. It is the southernmost inhabited island and built from Gothenburg's southern archipelago, to which, among other things Donsö and Styrsö belong.

Vrångö has a long fishing tradition. Two ports are located there, a passenger ferry shipping company Styrsöbolaget on behalf of the regional transport association Västtrafik on the east, and since 2004, a new marina on the western side of the island, whose construction was funded with EU funds. The local football club Vrångö IF wears his games on the island.

The northern and the southern part of the island is since 1979 a nature reserve. A loop trail provides access to the nature reserve for tourists. Therefore a part of the island for visitors is locked between April and July. At the southern tip of the island seals live in the wild. The reserve is managed by a foundation, the Västkuststiftelsen.
