Vrbovsko

Vrbovsko is a city and municipality in the Primorje - Gorski Kotar in Croatia.

Location and population

Vrbovsko is located in western Croatia close to the Slovenian border at an altitude of 506m. The municipality is located in the green mountains of Gorski Kotar, in the basin of the rivers Kupa, Dobra and Kamačnik. The municipality covers 65 districts, of which 3 are no longer inhabited. According to the census of 2011, the municipality has 5,076 inhabitants. The population consists mainly of Croats ( 60.15 %) and a not inconsiderable part of the Serbian minority ( 35.22 %).

Worth seeing

Vrbovsko one of the oldest towns in the Gorski Kotar Regin. The city culturally to offer many churches, including a monastery. Also, the city has a good access to nature by its geographic location. The nature reserve Kamačnik is a very popular hiking area.
