Vredefort is a town in the municipality Ngwathe, district Fezile Dabi, Free State Province in South Africa. In 2011 she had - including the townships Mokwallo - 14 619 inhabitants. Vredefort is situated 126 km south of Johannesburg and 76 kilometers north of Kroonstad in 1,456 meters above sea level and was founded in 1876.
