Vrgada

Vrgade is an island of the archipelago before Šibenik and is located southwest of Pasman, Croatia.

The island was already mentioned by Constantine VII mid-10th century under the name Loumbrikaton. On a hill above the cemetery remains of walls with square towers, probably remains of the ancient and early medieval castrum are obtained.

Vrgade can be reached by boat from Pakoštane from. From the mainland, there are about 5 kilometers. The small island is car-free. Two parallel mountain ranges give a wild character of the island. The inhabitants live by farming, fishing and tourism
