Vuhlehirsk

Wuhlehirsk (Ukrainian Вуглегірськ; Russian Углегорск / Uglegorsk ) is a city in the Donetsk Oblast in Ukraine with 8,234 inhabitants ( 2013). The town lies about 49 kilometers northeast of the Oblasthauptstadt Donetsk and is part of the urban district of Jenakijewe. For the municipality also includes the settlements Bulawyne ( Булавине ) Hrosne ( Грозне ) Kajutyne ( Каютине ), Krasny Pachar ( Красний Пахар ), and Saweliwka ( Савелівка ).

Wuhlehirsk was founded in 1879 as Chazapetiwka ( Хацапетівка ) in the course of the construction of a railway line and carried this name until 1958, when it was also charged to the city. The city is alive today from coal mining and coal processing. From 1958 to 1980 took place in the tram Wuhlehirsk, since 1982, there is the trolleybus Wuhlehirsk.
