The Wyg (Russian Выг, Finnish Uikujoki ) is a river in the Republic of Karelia in northwest Russia.

The flow consists of two sections of the river:

The overflow is from the 135 km long Upper Wyg (Russian Верхний Выг ), which opens into the Wygosero formed. It has its origins in the southeast, from Wygosero lake Egosero. It runs in a north-westerly direction through a swamp and then flows through several small lakes.

The underflow is of the 102 km long Lower Wyg (Russian Нижний Выг ) formed. It drains the Wygosero to the north and flows to Onegabucht, the southwestern end of the White Sea. The Lower Wyg is regulated by several dams and locks and is part of the White Sea - Baltic Canal. A large part of the water of Wygosero leaves the reservoir via the Ondskoje hydropower plant and the lower reaches of Onda and hits a few miles north on the actual White Sea - Baltic Canal and the Lower Wyg.

The catchment area of 27100 km ² comprises Wyg. The total length of the upper overflow, underflow and durchflossenem Wygosero is 314 km. The average discharge at the mouth is 267 m³ / s In Wygosero the Wyg flow to the following rivers: Segescha, Onda and Woschma.
