The Wym (Russian Вымь; fem Russian, German and the Wym ) is a 499 km long right tributary of the Vychegda in the northeast of the European part of Russia.

Course

The Wym rises approximately 320 meters above sea level on the western flank of the Timanrückens, reaching heights of over 350 m in this area. After a short course in a north-westerly to the west, the river turns south and flows through a wide, forested valley with extensive wetlands. Above the confluence of the creek Jolwa there are rapids. In the lower reaches, the Wym turns to the southwest and finally ends at the village of Ust- Wym, some 60 km north-west from Syktyvkar, in 68 m height in the Vychegda, the largest tributary of the Northern Dvina.

At its entire length, the Wym flows on the territory of the autonomous republic of Komi. The main tributaries are Worykwa, Jolwa, Poscheg and Chub from the right and Koin and Wesljana from the left.

Hydrographic
