Vyšehrad cemetery

The Vyšehrad cemetery (Czech: Vyšehradský hřbitov ), is the most famous cemetery in the city of Prague and was established in 1869 on the grounds of Vyšehrad castle. The cemetery is known as the final resting place of many important personalities of the Czech nation. At the cemetery, the composers Antonín Dvořák and Bedřich Smetana, as well as the Nobel laureate Jaroslav Heyrovský include buried. Also to be found at the cemetery area the tombs of other famous personalities of Czech origin.

In the middle of the cemetery is the monument of sculptor Antonín Wiehl Slavín, which serves as a mausoleum and final resting place for most outstanding personalities of the Czech people.
