W Ursae Majoris
W Ursae Majoris (W UMa ) is an eclipsing variable star in the constellation Ursa Major. He is the prototype of the W Ursae Majoris stars.
Its light variation was discovered by two astronomers Müller and Kempf at a zone surveillance for the Potsdam photometric survey in 1904.
W UMa is a contact system where both stars have a common envelope and replace them with gas flows matter. The period of 0.33363749 days.
