W. L. Mooty

William L. " W. L. " Mooty ( born June 16, 1906 Grundy County, Iowa; † 23, 1992) was an American politician. Between 1961 and 1965 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Iowa.

Career

After studying law at the University of Iowa and his admission as a lawyer W. L. Mooty began to work in this profession. He also worked as a farmer in agriculture. During the Second World War he served in the air forces of the army. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party. He was a member of the council of Grundy Center. In 1957 and 1958 he was a member of the House of Representatives from Iowa, which he was president.

1960 Mooty was elected to the side of Norman A. heir to the Lieutenant Governor of Iowa. This post he held 1961-1965. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. Since 1963, he served under the new Governor Harold Hughes. After the end of his time as Lieutenant Governor, he is no longer politically have appeared. He died on 23 May 1992.
