W. W. Hiltz

William W. Hiltz (* 1873 in Erin, Ontario, † February 26, 1936 ) was the 39th Mayor of Toronto

Hiltz ' ancestors came from the Palatinate and migrated in the early 18th century in America. William Hiltz began his career as a teacher and later became a contractor. This helped him to great wealth, so that he is the second most heavily taxed person in Toronto by Timothy Eaton was. He and his son Bill Hiltz were deans of the Danforth Methodist Church. William Hiltz was from January 1924 to January 1925 Mayor of Toronto.
