Wadan Yards

Wadan Yards was a shipbuilding company. It was created by the sale of the two German shipyards in Wismar and Rostock -Warnemünde as well as the shipyard in Ukraine Mykolaiv by the Norwegian company STX Europe (formerly Aker Yards ) to the Russian investment company FLC West.

On 5 June 2009, the company filed for insolvency presented. The yards were taken in Wismar and Warnemünde of the Nordic Yards from the bankruptcy proceedings.

History

In March 2008, Aker Yards sold the majority of the two German shipyards and at the shipyard in Ukraine Mykolaiv to the Russian investment company FLC West, which by the businessmen Andrei Burlakov (Russian: Андрей Бурлаков, English transcription: Andrey Burlakov ) and Yevgeny Sarizki ( Евгений Зарицкий, Evgeniy Zaritsky ) is controlled. The three shipyards were part of the new joint venture, Aker Yards Ukraine Holding, in the FLC West have 70 percent and 30 percent of Aker Yards shares. The transaction took retroactive effect from 1 January 2008 and from 22 September firmierten the shipyards as Wadan Yards. The purchase price amounted to 248.9 million euros.

Part of the agreement between STX Europe and FLC West are contracts for four container ships that were scheduled for delivery in 2010. The agreement also includes an option for Wadan yards on a 21.3 -percent stake in the Finnish technology company Aker Arctic, at the STX Europe so far (as of 2008) holds 71.4 %.

The headquarters of the composite was with the holding Wadan Yards Group AS in Oslo. Offices were also in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The three shipyards in the group were called now Wadan Yards MTW GmbH ( in Wismar ), Wadan Yards Warnow GmbH ( Warnemünde ) and Wadan Yards Okean OJSC ( in Mykolaiv ).

On 5 June 2009 a German company parts ( Wadan Yards MTW GmbH, Wadan Yards Warnow GmbH, Wadan Yards Warnow Real Estate GmbH, Wadan Yards LNG Technology GmbH, Wadan Yards MTW Real Estate GmbH ) petition with the District Court of Schwerin. For administrator of Schwerin lawyer Marc Odebrecht, a member of the firm Brinkmann & Partner has been appointed. Mid-August 2009 was able to present a buyer for the shipyards and their assets, the insolvency administrator. The head of the Moscow Nord Stream offices Vitaly Yusufov ( Виталий Юсуфов, Vitaly Yusufov ), son of former Russian Energy Minister and Gazprom Board Igor Yusufov ( Игорь Юсуфов, Igor Yusufov ) acquired the shipyards over by him called into existence Nordic Yards for about 40, 5 million euros. The creditors' committee approved the sale retroactively on August 17, 2009. Yusufov announced to receive half of the 2,500 positions. For employees in 1200 he issued a guarantee of employment. The insolvent companies of the German Wadan yards are after the sale of all assets now a legal envelope without content over which the Wadan creditors be paid off.
