Wadden Sea Conservation Station

The Conservation Station Wadden Sea is a nonprofit conservation organization that maintains numerous information centers on the North Frisian islands, the islets and the Schleswig-Holstein mainland. The club was founded in 1962 by Gert Oetken and the caring team in most of the National Park Schleswig -Holstein Wadden Sea. In addition to some full-time and many volunteers, the local conservation work is supported by currently 16 FöJ'lern and 28 BFD'lern. The Wadden Sea Conservation Station in 1972 was the first nationwide service, the civil service could field in environmental protection.

To promote the work of the Conservation Station, the Foundation Conservation Station Wadden Sea was founded in March 2009. As part of the Brent Goose Hooge holm days on the Wadden Sea Conservation Station annually honors individuals who are committed to the protection of Brent geese and their habitat, with the Golden brent goose feather.
