Wadi-us-Salaam
Wadi -us- Salaam ( ar. وادي السلام " Valley of Peace ") is an unused since the seventh century cemetery in the metropolitan area of the holy city of Najaf in Iraq, which is often referred to as the largest in the world.
Near the fourth caliph and first Shia Imam ʿ Alī ibn Abī Taalib is laid to rest. On 917 acres (for comparison has the largest European resting place, the cemetery Ohlsdorf, an area of 391 hectares) are five million people buried each year half a million to do so.
