Waeng Yai District
Amphoe Waeng Yai ( Thai: อำเภอ แวงใหญ่ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Khon Kaen. The Khon Kaen Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.
Geography
Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Khok Pho Chai which, Chonnabot, phon and Waeng Noi in the province of Khon Kaen, Amphoe Khon Sawan Province and Chaiyaphum.
History
Waeng Yai was born on January 3, 1977 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the three Tambon Khon Chim, Non Thong and May Na Phiang were separated from Amphoe Phon. On May 26 1980 he was promoted to Amphoe.
Administrative units
Amphoe Waeng Yai is ( tambon) divided into five municipalities, which in turn in 50 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.
There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:
- Waeng Yai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แวงใหญ่ ), consisting of the whole tambon Waeng Yai.
There are also four administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
