Wagener Stadium

The Wagener Stadium is a sports stadium used for various disciplines in Amstelveen (Netherlands). Currently it is used for hockey games. In 1973, games were hosted there at the world hockey championship. The stadium has a capacity of 9,000 seats.

The complex belongs since 1980 to the Dutch Hockey Association ( " Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond" ). He was the " Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club" ( AHBC ) in honor Joop Wagener (1881 - 1945) built. The building was a year before the Second World War came to the Netherlands completed ( 1939).

During the 1970s it became known that AHBC the stadium could not afford to continue and it was sold to the Dutch Hockey Association. AHBC but still has the privilege to play in the stadium.

  • Champions Trophy: 1982, 1987, 2003 and 2006
