Wagner-Werk-Verzeichnis

The Wagner- work directory ( WWV ) is a directory of all musical works of the composer Richard Wagner, which was developed as part of the complete edition of the works of Richard Wagner by John Death Ridge, Martin Geck and Egon Voss and published by Schott -Verlag 1986.

The directory contains good evidence - for example, to the emergence of time - to all designs, drawings and incunabula texts of Wagner and the carrying out of the composition, differentiated according to sketches, score, piano reduction, etc., as well as references to published editions of the works, and explanations to the creation and performance practice of the 113 works.

Other works

Recorded in the catalog are all proven to paper launched by Wagner work, even if they are lost or in part - as some early works - were destroyed by him. The No. 1 in the catalog raisonné is Wagner's first dramatic attempt, the tragedy in five acts Leubald that experienced in 1989 by the studio theater in Bayreuth his late premiere. For WWV include small occasional pieces such as album pages, dedications (eg Album Leaf for Betty Schott, WWV 108), fragments or composition provided texts that Wagner has, however, not implemented in music (eg, Jesus of Nazareth, WWV 80). There are also some arrangements of works by other composers such as Christoph Willibald Gluck's Iphigenie en Aulis ( WWV 77 ), which was for decades the most-played version at all stages of Europe, including an adaptation of Mozart's Don Giovanni ( WWV 83), and much more.
