Wahba Zuhayli

Sheikh Wahba Mustafa al - Zuhayli (Arabic هبة مصطفى الزحيلي / Wahba Mustafa al - Zuḥaylī ) is a scholar in the field of Islamic law and legal theory. He is also considered an expert on Islamic law. Al- Zuhayli is a popular preacher and an advocate of the traditional orthodox Sunni Islam.

He is the Head of the Department of Islamic jurisprudence and teachings ( قسم الفقه الإسلامي ومذاهبه ) at the College of Shariah law ( كلية الشريعة / Kulliyat aš - Saria ) of the University of Damascus in Syria.

He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter A Common Word between Us and You (English A Common Word Between Us and You), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (English " Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... " ) submitted (13 October 2007).
