Wai-wai people
The Waiwai are an American Indian people in Brazil.
Originally the border between Guyana and Brazil -based Waiwai are still about 2,900 people. Because of conflicts with Latin American settlers, they migrated in the 70s of the 20th century deeper to Brazil and settled again in a remote rainforest region on the Rio Xingu on. Most Waiwai Indians were converted since the 80s to the Christian faith, they did retain to this day their Caribbean language Waiwai.
