Waikato Rugby Union

The Waikato Rugby Union ( WRU ) is the national rugby union Provincial Association of the Waikato region in the North Island of New Zealand. The association and jersey colors are red, yellow and black. The selection team of the Association in the national championship ITM Cup wears their home games at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton from. The association was founded in 1921.

Players from Waikato represent the largest part of the crew chiefs who plays in the international Super Rugby championship. For this reason, the home games of the Chiefs will also be held in Hamilton.
