Wainfan Facetmobile

The Wainfan FMX -4 is a U.S. Amateurbauflugzeug. From amateurs home-built aircraft (so-called homebuilts ) flying in the U.S. with an "Experimental Airworthiness Certificate Category " and are identified by the inscription experimental. But you must not be confused with test aircraft that are being built for research purposes.

The aircraft is designed as a single-seat supporting body ( lifting body) and has a piston engine and a fixed tricycle landing gear. The first flight took place in 1993. Within the testing phase 130 flight hours were collected. The aircraft is easy to master, according to the developers, as it is to remain controllable ( below 61 km / h) in the uncoated state.

Currently (October 2006) is a two -seat variant, FMX -5 called in development.
