Waipa District

The Waipa District is one of the 70 districts in New Zealand. It lies on the North Island in the Waikato region.

Geography

The Waipa District is located in the center of the Waikato region. Just north is close to the largest city in the region, Hamilton, and the Waikato district. To the east of the Waikato River largely forms the border with the Matamata - Piako District or the South Waikato District, while joining in the south of Otorohanga District.

In the district there are several parks, for example around the nearly 1000 -meter Mount Pirongia, or to the nearly 800 -meter-high Mount Maungatautari.

Population

The two main towns are Cambridge with almost 14,000 inhabitants and Te Awamutu with about 9500 inhabitants. Economy
