Waiting for the Sun is the third album by the American rock band The Doors. It was released in July 1968 and was the first and only number-one album of the band in the U.S..
History
The expectations for the album Strange Days were very high, so Waiting for the Sun by some was called first disappointment. Also, the song material was of gentle and contained ballads like Love Street, Wintertime Love, Summer's Almost Gone and Yes, the River Knows. In Spanish Caravan a flamenco guitar was used. The album was the first time in Great Britain successful where it reached number 16.
Criticism
The page Allmusic gave the album 3.5 out of 5 stars and called it "quite enjoyable and diverse, just not as powerful a full-length statement as the group 's best albums. "
