History

The hit is 3:50 minutes long and was released on the album Make It Big. On the B - side of the single is also an instrumental version of the song.

The idea for the hit came George Michael, as he waited in a hotel room at his friend Andrew Ridgeley, who still rightly set out in the bathroom for an intended trip to a club. About Rigeleys bed Michael discovered a sign that says " Wake Me Up Before You Go- Go". This phrase inspired him and he wrote shortly after the song.

Music Video

The music video was filmed in the Carling Academy Brixton in London. In the plot of the video, the duo plays accompanied by backing singers Pepsi & Shirlie and other musicians accompanying the song in front of a crowd of students, taking into T- shirts with the slogan CHOOSE LIFE, which is intended as a slogan against drug abuse and suicide.
