History
Forest Erbach belonged to Rentamt Amberg and the district court weather field of the Electorate of Bavaria. The monastery forest Erbach was first documented in 1143, when the then Augustinian Canons was donated to the Zinsterzienser Order. It had an open Hofmark here. Today's church was built with the municipality edict of 1818.
Incorporations
In 1945 or 1946, until then independent municipality cats Rohrbach and parts of the disbanded community book village were incorporated. As part of the municipal reform the surrounding communities Abtsried, Dieberg, house and church Rohrbach were incorporated on 1 July 1971. With the neighboring municipality of Reichenbach forest Erbach combined administration community, whose headquarters is located in forest Erbach.

Mayor Joseph is Höcherl (CDU in Regen ).
The municipal tax revenues were converted to T € 789 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted 173 T €.
Coat of arms
Blazon: Split; front in silver over blue, a green cross flow of rooted conifer, back in red, a silver, occupied with three red roses oblique beams. The coat of arms is in use since 1951.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the manufacturing sector and 152 in the area of trade and transport 76 persons work at the workplace.
