Waleran, Duke of Lower Lorraine

Walram III. Paganus ( the heathen ) (c. 1085; † July 16, 1139 ) was from 1115 to 1119 Count of Arlon, from 1118, Count of Limburg and Lord of Wassenberg, and, from 1128 Duke of Lower Lorraine. It is also called (according to other counts) Walram II. He was the son of Count Henry I of Limburg. His mother is a dispute in the literature ( refer to the article Henry I ).

Walram Paganus was permanent with the Duke of Brabant and the Bishop of Liege at war. 1128 he was appointed by the Emperor Lothar III. appointed Duke of Lower Lorraine. His son, Henry II was succeeded as Count of Limburg, but not as Duke of Lower Lorraine. This title went in 1139 to the Duke of Brabant. Henry II was in 1140 rewarded with the title of Duke of Limburg.

He was married to Jutta von Wassenberg, daughter of Gerhard III. Wassenberg, Count of funds from the house Wassenberg, who was also heiress of Wassenberg. Their children were:
