Coat of arms

Blazon: "Divided Silver Blue, above a blue carp, below a left -turned silver carp. "

The design of a coat of arms for Walldorf was commissioned by the municipality in March 1995 at the Herald Jörg Mantzsch in order. Investigations revealed no evidence of previous emblem, only in the recent past a seal was performed in which three lancet- shaped fish pale as are the sign of which is the middle one wave beams.

From heraldist the three narrow and ambiguous fish were replaced by two carp in confused colors on split plate. Reciprocity in tincture and direction corresponds to models of classical heraldry. The shape of the fish is also well suited to demonstrate the two plate halves, ie the proportionality in the symbolism is optimally available.

The fish itself is a very different figure depicted in heraldry. He is an early Christian symbol, which dates back to Peter, but also the symbol of health and secrecy, as well as a sign of fishing rights or the reference to a body of water. In the case Walldorf to the puddle of these reference is made to the waters.
