Walloons

As Walloons, the French-speaking inhabitants of the Belgian region of Wallonia, respectively. The French-speaking community in the Brussels-Capital region referred to is mostly produced as a Francophone.

Etymology

The Low German / Dutch term " Waals " is the equivalent of the High German term for Walloon. From this it an etymological connection with the High German name out welsch.
