Walric, abbot of Leuconay

Walaricus, also Walarich, Valery, (* 560, † to 620) was a figure of early monasticism in the Frankish Empire.

The founder of the monastery Leuconay came from the Auvergne. Under the influence of the Irish missionary Columbanus of Luxeuil he entered the monastery of Luxeuil, founded by this. 613 he founded the monastery Leuconay of the Somme estuary, where he died about the year 620.

The place Leuconai was later renamed Saint -Valery -sur- Somme. There are also in the Walaricus named after the village of Saint -Valery -en- Caux.
