Walter Abbott

Walter Abbott (born 7 December 1877 in Birmingham, † February 1, 1941 ) was an English footballer who played for Small Heath, Everton and Burnley. For Small Heath 's shot as a striker in 85 games 66 goals in all competitions. In the 1898/99 season he scored 42 goals in 34 league games and became the top scorer in the Second Division.

After his move to Everton where he became employed as a midfielder. With Everton he was in season 1901/ 02 and 1904/ 05 runner-up, won the 1906 FA Cup and reached the 1907 FA Cup final, which Everton lost 2-1 against Sheffield Wednesday.

During his time at Everton, he played on March 3, 1902 a goalless draw in the Racecourse Ground in Wrexham Wales against his only game for the England football team.
