Walter Baum

Walter Baum ( * May 23, 1921 in Gummersbach, † March 8, 2007 in Bad Soden ) was a German typographer, teacher and graphic artist.

From 1935 to 1939 Walter tree served an apprenticeship as a typesetter. From 1946 to 1948, the Master School followed for the Formative craft in Offenbach am Main. He then worked as head of the graphic studios at the Bauer foundry in Frankfurt am Main. There he developed 1954-1963 in collaboration with Konrad Friedrich Bauer, among others, the Folio. From 1972 to 1986 he was owner and director of the art school Westend in Frankfurt am Main. Walter tree last lived in Bad Soden.
