Walter De Greef

Walter De Greef ( born November 12, 1957 in Paal ) is a retired Belgian footballer.

Playing career

De Greef began his career at FC Beringen where he stood from 1975 to 1981 under contract. In 1981 he moved to RSC Anderlecht. In five years in Brussels, the defender has twice won the Belgian Championship and once the Belgian Supercup. Furthermore, he was able to win the 1983 UEFA Cup. In the second final in Lisbon De Greef was in the starting lineup of the Violet and played through. In 1986 he moved to Austria to Vienna Sports Club, where he remained only one year. In 1987 he returned to Belgium and even played one year at Sporting Lokeren and later at the Patro Eisdem MM, where he ended his career.

International De Greef played five times for Belgium. He participated in the European Football Championship in 1984 partly in Italy, where Belgium was eliminated in the group stage.
