Walter Koenig

Walter Marvin Koenig ( born September 14, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actor, director and screenwriter. His parents were Lithuanian Jews and wore originally the surname of Königsberg.

Life

Since the early 1960s, he starred in several television productions. He achieved fame through the presentation of Pavel Chekov in the science fiction series Star Trek. In the 1990s he appeared repeatedly as Alfred Bester in the series Babylon 5

Walter Koenig played a guest role in the fan project Star Trek: New Voyages. There, he played in the episode To Serve All My Days once again the role of Pavel Chekov.

On 10 September 2012, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This is located in the vicinity of the star of his Star Trek counterpart George Takei.

Private

Walter Koenig is married to Judy Levitt since 1965 and had a son, Josh Andrew Koenig ( * 1968, † 2010). His daughter, Danielle Koenig is married to comedian Jimmy Pardo, with whom she has a child. 1993 Koenig received a coronary artery bypass.

Walter Koenig has been involved for years for refugees and victims of the military dictatorship in Myanmar.

Synchronization

The German synchronization took Elmar Wepper ( ZDF episodes of Star Trek and movies ) and Martin Umbach ( sat.1 dubbed version of the Starship Enterprise). In the movies Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and Star Trek: Generations, he was spoken by Frank Glaubrecht. In Babylon 5, he was voiced by Till Hagen.
