Walter Martínez (footballer)

Walter Julián Martínez ( born March 24, 1982 in Tegucigalpa ) is a Honduran football player.

Career

Although he was born in Tegucigalpa, Martínez began his career at Victoria La Ceiba. After that he played for city rivals Vida before it to CD Marathón, another Honduran top club, joined, where he put his skills to the test and thus attracted the attention of foreign clubs.

Pery, as he is called, finally opted for a transfer to Beijing at Beijing Guoan in the Chinese Super League, which had played many of his countrymen in the last few years already. There he became with 14 goals in 44 games as one of the best strikers of the Chinese upper house.

After a brief stint at the Spanish club Deportivo Alavés Martínez eventually returned to Marathón. But he changed after one season back to Beijing Guoan.
