Walter Masing

Walter Masing ( born June 22, 1915 in Petrograd, † March 29, 2004 in Erbach ) was a German physicist and entrepreneur.

Life

Prof. Dr. Walter Masing was since 1983 Honorary Chairman of the German Society for Quality ( DGQ ). He was instrumental in the establishment of quality management in Germany and Europe. For his numerous merits and achievements Masing was honored, among others, the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany with Sash and 1st class. With the Walter Masing Prize DGQ promotes since 1988 trainees.

Walter Masing was a member of the 1939 suspended Baltic Corporation Livonia, Dorpat and founded in 1948, Baltic Corporation Fraternitas Dorpatensis to Munich. In 1938 he led in Leipzig camaraderie Margrave of Meissen in the National Socialist German Students' League. The " margraviate " carried the tradition of the suspended Leipzig Corps and converted in 1942 to the Corps Misnia IV
