Walter Rudi Wand

Walter Rudi Wall ( born September 7, 1928 in Kleinkeula, † June 29, 1985 in Karlsruhe ) was a German jurist and 1970-1983 Judge of the Federal Constitutional Court.

Life

The son of a farmer grew up in the Thuringian Kleinkeula and attended high schools in Eisenach and special Hausen. In 1945 he was reassigned to still work and called up to military service. After graduation, he took a degree in law at the University of Jena, joined the University of Berlin and later was 1950, the first State examination. He left the GDR and put 1956 in Mainz, the second state examination.

A year later he joined the judicial service of the State of Rhineland -Palatinate. In 1961 he was appointed Associate Judge at the District Court of Frankenthal. It closed in 1963, a delegation of the Federal Constitutional Court as a research assistant at. In 1964 he was admitted as a senior executive officer in the federal public service. Here he worked from 1964 to 1966 as the second Presidential Senate of the Federal Constitutional Court and from 1966 to 1969 as a Presidential Council of the first Senate, where he was the closest collaborator of the President Gebhard Müller. During this time he was promoted to Executive Council (1966) and the Ministerial (1967). At the same time he was press officer. In 1969 he was made director of the court.

In 1970 he was elected for the remainder of the term of office of the European Court exchanged Hans Kutscher to the judges of the Federal Constitutional Court. For the first time a member of the administration of the Federal Constitutional Court was appointed to the Constitutional Court itself. Since coachman tenure ended in 1971, this year, a new election was necessary, was confirmed at the wall for a twelve -year term. Until 1983 he was a member of the second chamber. Wall was awarded the Grand Cross of Merit with Star and Sash of the Federal Republic of Germany. He died in 1985 after a visit to the court library in Karlsruhe from heart failure. He was with Martha, née Müller, married and had two daughters.
