Waltraud Dietsch

Waltraud Dietsch, née Birnbaum (* November 26, 1950 in Staßfurt, Saxony -Anhalt ) is a German track and field athlete who - starting for the GDR - at the European Championships in 1974 the gold medal in the 4 x 400 - meter relay team of East Germany won ( 3:25,2 min, together with Angelika towels, Ellen Streidt and Brigitte Rohde ).

They also launched at the European Championships in 1969 and finished there with the 4 x 400 - meter relay in the GDR fifth ( 3:35,2 min). Dietsch belonged to the SC Magdeburg and won the 1968 East German championship title over 400 meters outdoors and the 1970 in the hall. In her playing days, she was 1.64 m tall and 57 kg.

In 1974 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze.
