Wang Jianzhong

Wang Jianzhong (Chinese王建中, Pinyin Wáng Jianzhong, born 1933 in Shanghai) is a Chinese composer and pianist. At age 10 he began playing the piano. Later he studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He tried to combine traditional Chinese composition techniques with modern Western classical composition techniques and to explore new avenues for piano music. He created a large number of piano works. In particular, his piano arrangements of Chinese folk songs found a broad absorption, for example, the five folk songs from Yunnan ( Yunnan minge shou wu ).

1995 published the Collected Piano Works Wang Jianzhongs.
